A-Lex makes his highly anticipated return with his new LP “From A Seed”.
Already a Grammy nominated songwriter (Musiq), he’s also an incredible singer and producer who last dropped a project in January 2019 called “One”. You can read about how we ranked that project #8 on our “Top 10 albums of 2019 You Might Have Missed” right here.
Today he makes his return with an 11-track beauty that is led by his February single ‘Already Rich’, the May release ‘The Hook Up’ and his final single featuring KeKe Palmer ‘Deep Water’ that dropped two weeks ago. The LP encapsulates the best of A-Lex as he discusses his expressions and forms of Art, describing the purpose of his music on social media: “My art isn’t dictated by the opinions of others, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t care what anyone thinks. I use music to speak MY truth in hopes of inspiring someone else to share THEIR truth. Once I developed that mindset my fear of sharing subsided. I STILL get nervous at times but learned that although sharing the creation is a risk, it’s the best and most important part of the process.”
A-Lex is simply brilliant on this project as he teeters on R&B and Hip Hop with basslines that are sure to shatter your windows. Standing out on his title track, the acoustic offering leads out with encouraging words through a voicemail on healing over heartbreak. He also cuts ‘The Pull Up’ short to an interlude which Elijah Fox contributing on the production which we would love to see released as a full track. Perhaps the hidden gem is ‘My Business’ as this track jumps out, packed with an immersive melody that has his lady risking it all tonight on a bouncy back drop.
