Alina Baraz makes her project “It Was Divine” official.
The 16-track album has a ton of pre-released singles on it, like ‘Off the Grid’, ‘Endlessly’, ‘More Than Enough’, ‘Morocco’, and ‘To Me’. Yes, that’s five advanced singles, but there’s still eleven tracks with bangers like the Amy Winehouse influenced ‘Until I Met You’ featuring Nas, ‘Who Got Me’, and ‘To Me’ which Alina describes as “…the most important song in my career thus far.”… plus more sensual singles.
Alina introduces the project with the note to Apple Music; “I wanted to heal with this album. I wanted to nourish myself, to understand myself, to mark a fresh start.” The music really speaks to this message and vice-versa, as she leads out with the track ‘My Whole Life’, continuing with “This is a good entry point to the album because when I first met this person, these were genuinely the first thoughts that came into my head. And as extreme as that sounds, it’s very telling about me as a person.”
