Bryan Cheru makes good on his new EP “Cruel Intentions”.
The five-track EP has the singer, songwriter, producer from South Africa shining over his new project defining the title as “causing or inflicting pain without pity”. The project was written, produced, engineered by Bryan (formerly known as the “LNLYBOY”) as he taps DazeOnEast for the lone feature on ‘Hit Me Up’.
The EP boasts top shelf production with a plethora of strings and heavy bass lines as Bryan tackles the journey of finding love trying to filter through empty promises and endless lies. Kicking it off with ‘Your Love’, he sets the tone of the project expressing his frustration of being beaten and berated with lies and deceit from his partner. He transitions into a skit where he casts blame on himself for some of his failed relationships as he takes time to understand himself seeking and reflecting as to why this cycle keeps repeating itself.
Going into the third offering, the narrative continues on ‘Hit Me Up’ in a complete state of contradiction and confusion as most of those that are blind-in-love are, singing “I don’t want you back right now / but I need your love right now / should I take a chance right now / Don’t want you back right now”.
Another great project from Bryan who’s been averaging a major release at least once per year. Take a spin on the new one from the independent triple threat right here!
