Los Angeles native Dani Leigh publishes her latest project titled “My Side”.
The singer songwriter signed to Def Jam brings in the legendary Rodney Jerkins (Darkchild) to executive produce the EP and the results were immediate on the streaming counts. Her lead single (and video) ‘Dead To Me’ has already racked up millions of streams and has barely been out for two months. She also includes her second lead single from the previous week ‘Heartbreaker’ which is also trending leaving listeners with five new joints.
Dani was on the Breakfast Club last week to talk about her EP, and said she created the project 8 months ago and said “the time that I created it I was in that space to just sing about how I was feeling” which was her side of how she felt in the moment regarding past relationships. She felt like the creation process was therapeutic, giving her closure, allowing her to close those chapters in her life and move past everything in that chapter. The situation she refers to is the relationship she had with DaBaby and how their 3-year relationship ended with DaBaby going on IG Live saying they were never together, and told her to get out and called the cops on her.
Dani continued to stay sheltered and private during the interview but did reveal that after getting pregnant and becoming a Mother, she felt she had to get off of social media to steer clear from the rollercoaster that these platforms can bring.
Dani last released her LP “MOVIE” in November 2020 which featured her hit single ‘Levi High’ ft. her real-life baby-Daddy DaBaby along with other features from PARTY, Queen Naija, Gunna and more. You can stream the new EP below or click here to find your DSP.
