Drake publishes his seventh studio LP titled “Honestly, Nevermind”.
The fourteen track release literally comes out of nowhere as Drizzy publishes the announcement on Instagram the night of the release! The exact opposite of “Certified Lover Boy” where fans were forced to wait over a year for the project to come to fruition.
Drake shares some insight to the track name as he preaches more on Honesty than anything else, but doesn’t let fans in on the whole story, “that’s for another night”. He knows he’s getting older and knows what is important to him, he wants the loyalty over the popularity, and he’s not fooled at his obsession for perfection, saying he knows what’s what.
His lead single and video for ‘Falling Back’ is the depiction of Drake getting married to one woman, kind of. It’s a 9-minute visual that has been viewed over 7M times already.
The album itself is a perfect summer’s night soundtrack staged at the backdrop of an after hours party with dance heavy tunes from start to finish, keeping that energy up, and likely lasting all night. The symbolism isn’t lost when speaking about longevity as this one will be sticking around for a long time. Although CLB was record-breaking in the short term with 7 singles in the top 10, it fell off just as quick as it got here – likely the reason for this impromptu release.
