Atlanta artist Hakeem publishes his new single ‘Nina’s Interlude’.
Coming in at 2:35, it’s more than an interlude, as the 22 year old begins his journey into R&B music as a multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer and musician. Finding his gift through the Church since 2011, the self-taught creator began playing piano and drums as a pre-teenager which gave him the foundation and fundamentals for interpreting music. This skillset allowed him to create music from the ground-up and put together the elements required to produce a song.
His latest release ‘Nina’s Interlude’ was made to push the envelope forward on a topic that’s generally swept under the rug with people afraid to show vulnerability and rejection. When speaking with Hakeem, he tells Music Group “Nina’s interlude, I believe I captured a feeling that everyone has felt before. This is a feeling that my generation tends to stay away from. Whether you’ve felt it once or you’re quite familiar with it, it’s a feeling of love, but a feeling of rejection. Regardless if you’re a man or woman, if we’re being honest, we’ve all felt this way about someone before.”
It’s a part of the lead up to his debut EP which he is responsible for writing and producing the entire project. The song itself won’t be on there, but is part of the journey to elevate awareness and generate anticipation to the forthcoming Summer-time release.
