New Mexico native Kawelo is out with his new EP “Saint Kamea”.
The seven-track project is the first body of work in a full year since he dropped “444” in December of 2019. He’s a hidden gem that needs way more exposure with super creativity running through his veins bringing passion and real life stories to the forefront. Sadly, our favourite song from him ‘Matrimony’ isn’t found on DSP for whatever reason, but you can still find it on YouTube.
But today we’re here to talk about the new project “Saint Kamea”. Kawelo writes on IG describing the project “A beautiful story about my child in heaven. A story of the greatest pain I have ever faced. A testimony of trials and tribulations and the finding of faith and the truth through it all. God works in ways that we do not understand. I’ve found that all of the greatest graces I have ever received have come through suffering and adversity alone. There is nothing we connect more through as humans than suffering. We are here on earth to do so together.”
Kawelo describes the project as “a masterpiece” and he’s right on schedule with this assessment. Truly this is an absolutely beautiful EP that speaks to everything in your body as you attach yourself in the fiber of the music. Going into ‘Survival’ as the third record on the EP, we find ourselves captivated to the song as he writes “I do anything for my daughter / I can’t leave her without a Father / I give everything for survival” sending chills which is followed by a perfect flux of horns to end with.
