Leila Dey shares her new project titled “Detour”.
The seven-track project starts out with a spoken word poem that sets the stage and narrative for the bass-heavy release. We’re going to be completely honest, this project blew us away from what our expectations were. Not because her previous work was sub-par, we just were not expecting such a captivating body of work – Still, she’s come a long way from 2017’s “Black Bouquet”. We knew the vision, the talent was there when she played off of Missy’s single ‘Rain’ on her single ‘3:44’, and DETOUR shows the results of her becoming a well-rounded Artist.
Leila features her two previously released singles with ‘Notice’ and ‘Passenger’ and sparkles on her new releases. ‘The Switch’ registers at only 1:16 in duration but the strings will hold on to your thoughts for much longer, resulting on this finding its way on repeat as she battles fighting someone that want’s their freedom as she is happy to let them go.
She takes to IG to thank everyone that made this come together, admitting that she battled confidence, shy to share her talents with the world – but its out there now, and I’m certain she’s glad she did. Press play below to check out the new Leila Day EP right here!
