Universal Music Recording Artist Nanette shares her debut LP titled “Bad Weather”.
The South African singer, songwriter describes her debut as “an exercise in finding refuge in cathartic artistic expression.” She tells Apple Music “I’ve always gravitated towards something that would make me just hold my chest and bare my sins”.
Originally scheduled for release May 6th, the project is pushed out three weeks to today where the label makes good on the release date – and it was worth waiting for. A nine-track album that has thundering base with a heavy use of instruments including a trace of Afro-R&B creating head-nodding beats behind her poetic style singing, mixing up tempo’s but remaining hard-hitting. Her lead singles ‘Dream Girl’, ‘Vent’ and ‘Mama’s Boy’ show up on the release as well, where she attempts to conquer her jitters and paralyzing fear of thunderstorms, naming the project after this.
