Thuy is out with her sophomore project titled “Girls Like Me Don’t Cry”.
She makes the announcement and provides context to the title of the EP on IG writing “when i was younger, my uncle had a nickname for me in Vietnamese that essentially meant crybaby. i used to cry at the tiniest inconvenience and honestly still do (just on the inside 🥲). i think a lot of times people see me as someone who’s always strong and confident but the truth is, even the strongest women cry and that is never a sign of weakness.”
Featuring Rini on ‘Trust’, the video features couples from all ages and ethnicities (including what appears to be her parents) who discuss how they’ve continued to stay together and what each other does for their significant other to keep the Love and Trust strong. She captions the video with “trust is something u build with another person. u spend time growing and learning each other, and somewhere along the way the goal is to become two pieces of a greater whole. through the journey of love and relationship building, u find pieces of urself in others and the commonalities u share.”
The seven-track EP also features the video for the title track which has Thuy sharing that although she might appear to be tough on the outside, she’s silently battling herself on the inside. ‘Trust’ was released as the lead single off the project back in July and also features her 2nd single ‘Playing Tricks’ from August. Stream the full EP right here.
