Canadian singer, songwriter Ziya is out with her new single ‘Drunk Dial’.
The 20-year-old Ontario native of Vietnamese descent has made the decision to make a real run at R&B music and leads out with another banger on ‘Drunk Dial’. It’s her third single in the past few months as she builds momentum off the solid success from ‘Misbehave’ and ‘Stay’ both eclipsing 100K streams on Spotify alone. The liquid courage comes to the forefront here as the confessions are real, making that sobering mistake calling her Ex laying it all out there.
“Commitments not for me right now, you should have seen the signs / I warned you when we started baby, don’t act so surprised” she sings, knowing that the relationship has hit a dead-end, but she can’t resist dialing out, as they’re “drunk and in Love but there’s nowhere to go”. Ziya tells Music Group “The song to me represents a toxic relationship that is continuously on and off, where an individual will contact an ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend when they are under the influence of alcohol and/or substances when they would not normally have the courage to do when they are sober.” – we’ve all been there!
Co-Produced by JustIdeas, Josh Polasz & Jorge De Pineda, the song is released in conjunction with the video with Ziya in the setting of a house-party that seems to be coming to an end – all alone – she makes the call. Tap into the new offering right here and follow her on Instagram for more updates!
